From a Pastor’s heart to yours…..
An unknown author penned this thought-provoking story: A little 8 year old boy named Chase wrote his mom a note and pinned it to her pillow at night. The note said…….
Mom, for taking out the trash this month you owe me = $2 for making my bed and cleaning my room = $3 for cutting the grass you owe me = $4 for feeding our 2 cats and 1 dog you owe me = $2”
The mother responded by writing her son a note and placed it on his pillow. Chase found that it said……….
“Dear Chase, for cooking your meals, you owe me …..nothing for washing your clothes, you owe me ….nothing for staying home with you when you were sick last month, you owe me ….nothing for giving you birth and bringing you into this world, you owe me ....nothin
I did all of this because I love you. Love always, Mom”
Friends, our lives are painted with the marks of God’s Goodness. From God’s great love, his goodness flows to touch, bless and restore us. As we remember how all of God’s actions toward us are purely good, let us return our thanks to him each week through our prayers, presence, gifts (tithes), our service and our witness for Jesus Christ.
Be in prayer for how the Holy Spirit wants you to demonstrate your gratitude to God by supporting the ministries He uses to save and heal lives. God is good all the time and all the time, God is good. See you this Sunday at church and remember that God loves you and I do too! ……………Bill
