We have several things to remind everyone on for the month of February.
1) Wednesday night dinners. The youth are responsible for serving and cleanup for the month. I will be there early to help set up and serve and would like several youth to help in this area as well. If we could have some adult volunteers to help with the clean-up it will not cut too much into our Wednesday night bible study.
2) Red Bird Mission Trip: There is a meeting tonight at 6:30 p.m. for anyone that would like to go on the Red Bird Mission Trip. Please let me know if there are any youth that would like to go and if any of the parents are interested in going. The mission trip is June 3rd - June 9th.
3) Chili - Cook/off fundraiser: this Sunday, February 5th after the late service. I need volunteers for the following materials:
a) Additional pots of chili, soup or stew. We have a small amount of chili entries this year.
b) Bags of shredded cheese.
c) Family size bags of Fritos
d) Crackers
e) Desserts
We will need these items in the kitchen by 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. Please let me know what you plan to bring by Friday, February 3rd.
4) Youth Super Bowl Party: Sunday, February 5th @ 6:00 p.m. As in years past, Middle School will need to be picked up during halftime(8:15 p.m.) The High School group can stay until the end of the game, or 10:00 p.m. Which ever comes first! We are asking the groups to bring the following: (We will provide wings and chicken fingers)
Middle School: Drinks and Chips
High School: Desserts
5) Youth WORK Day!: Finally have a work day scheduled! Saturday, February 11th at 8:00 a.m. We will be working on the YOUTH house. We will begin demolition of the front porch. Need to bring with you if you can; gloves, sledge hammers, regular hammers, shovels and crowbars. We will be done by lunch time. I for one am excited to begin work on the house!
6) Valentine's Banquet. The youth will serve and provide entertainment for this event. February 11th. Youth to be dressed per instruction given to them earlier and in the fellowship hall at 5:00 p.m.
7) We have decided to cancel the Winter Break Retreat. We will have the following in it's place:
Wednesday, February 22nd - Evening Outing for Middle School
Thursday, February 23rd - Evening Outing for High School
Friday, February 24th - Evening Outing for entire Youth Group We will have sign up sheets and cut off dates on the youth bulletin board tonight. Everyone MUST be signed up for these events in advance to hold your spot.
